entrepreneurs: personal consulting

I came to this specialty years ago by virtue of those of you who have passed though my office.  Some were adept in seeing how to use my clinical skills  – making them true entrepreneurs – and realized i could be useful to them along their entrepreneurial path. This, in turn, has fostered in me an understanding of the nature of being an entrepreneur, the world in which they live and the challenges they face.

While this could be viewed as coaching, in my role here i offer something more inclusive and focused somewhat differently.   In my work with you, i utilize my skills as a psychologist along with years of  experience working with people in the world of business, to help you personally manage the many challenges that await, such as:

• managing the stress of risk-taking
• understanding what might be interfering with your moving forward
• handling the major ups-and-downs inherent in the role of entrepreneur
• coming to solutions : and decisions
• support when you might be feeling unsure
• how and where to focus your energies
• learning to say ‘no’
• keeping stress away from your personal life

The entrepreneurial life asks one to take risks, think big, go forward without fear (or in spite of it), take on more and more, invest when not certain of the outcome.  It is an admirable way of taking on life, but one that can also lead to a sense of isolation and periods of anxiety and frustration.  Sometimes a big deal is in the offing – but it takes time, and the ups and downs of this waiting can take a toll on your well-being, maybe even your relationships.  I have seen it happen repeatedly. Stress can change your world. But it needn’t be stress that compels you to my office, it could be to try out new ideas, get a fresh perspective, have someone follow your thinking or looking for suggestions from a different point of view.

I admire the entrepreneur’s style, drive, energy  and way of thinking.  I enjoy working with those of you who choose this path.  I also see the hard times of it – and the excitement –  and know that my involvement and partnering  has mattered to those of you i have worked with in this arena.
